Oh my God, where to begin?! So we are currently stating at the Silver Chalice, courtesy of Durin, as we begin our investigation. It's a pretty nice place, but I feel no one hear trusts us. It could be the rumors about Skudd after he was seen at the Drunken Duck with a very "spunky" pixie (if ya know what I mean); but he won't divulge into what exactly seems to make everyone so suspicious of him. I'm sure he will spill the beans sometimes soon though. I mean, come on, I'm like his best friend and he KNOWS how good I am at keeping secrets! We have discovered some pretty gnarly stuff though, all thanks to my exquisite skills of course!

So there is this one building out by the port that seems pretty suspicious. Skudd of course, as always, had to give us a rough start at the beginning of our investigation. He can't even fool a silly human! The first time I was able to investigate this suspicious building he ruins it by stuttering and hardly able to tell a lie to the silly human guards I just distracted. So it really wasn't until the second evening of our search were we able to find a lead. As suspected, this one building, with TONS of huge crates, and this one BIG glowing crate, may exactly what we are looking for. It's covered in all of these weird runes that even the almighty Nestor can't even read. That smells like trouble to me! All he could tell was that it was some kind of sealing spell, which could only mean one thing: JACKPOT!

This begins our research on what exactly is going on. Curiosity leads us to find Durin who divulges that this particular building is owned by the Noble House of Heisenburg where you guess it, is runned by Humans. More research at the tax collector's office shows that since this house took over the this particular building at the port there have been several discrepancies in the taxes and goods records going in and out. They also have a ship called "The Wind's Breath" that seems to peak some of Durin's interest as well. Don't tell the others, but I think we are on to something! I can't wait to see the look on Durin's face once we solve the mystery!

Well, I gotta go! We're going back to the port tonight. Durin gave us this awesome wand to unseal the big glowing crate. Wish us luck

It is so good to be home! We are finally in Kingdom Respite, but it's not that we didn't find any trouble on the way. On our last day of traveling west we got jumped by three, count them... THREE, bandits! I wasn't really afraid of them as my super Gnome senses located them early on in the brush, but WOW did they mean business. Well, kinda... So I warn Skudd of the hooligans hiding, poorly might I add, in the bushes, and we ready our weapons. I stand my ground, not sure if they are friend or foe, but Skudd, being the genius he is, starts approaching the closest one. They appear! And all of a sudden one of them shoots an arrow straight at Skudd's ENORMOUS head! Not that it's a hard target, but this guy not only shot once,or twice, or three times(!) and misses the gigantic Dwarf! To think! How could you miss him?! He's HUGE!!!! He clearly needed to go back to archery school. I could shoot that thing better than him and his bow is just as tall as me! Well, Skudd wasn't going to have any of it and throws a dagger directly at his friend to show him how it's done. The dagger hits and the guy starts bleeding! Needless to say, they were not happy, but the poor guy with a dagger in his side can't handle his anger. He lunges towards Skudd with his spear and hits. Point. Blank. OMG! I cannot hold back my laughter! Skudd sees no humor in any of this though (Death of the party always!) and I have to start coming to his rescue as ALWAYS. Skudd retaliates with his warhammer only to be met again with the blow of the poor guy's spear. I strike with my gnome-hooked hammer and BAM! The first bandit is DOWN! Skudd is not amused, but I could tell by the look in his eyes he was thankful of my sacrifice. I am pretty awesome and he knows it.

TO prove his manliness though, Skudd, in his ball of beard-y, hair-y glory charges for the archer that instigated this whole mess and BAM! The archer falls to the ground, gasping for air, and slowly fading... All while another guy appears from the brush. I don't know quite what happens but as soon as we divert our attention to the third and final bandit he's already on the floor with an arrow coming out of his chest. The new guy introduces himself as Nestor Merona and immediately locks eyes with Skudd, offering to heal his foot. It's suspicious, but I notice he's Human of course! Silly guy, walking around here all by himself, looking for strange feet to touch! I tell you, if I had a silver piece for every silly human I see bumbling around where he or she shouldn't be! I'd be able to buy all the pretty stones I want! Like this AMAZING watch I saw one time. This Elf was visiting our town for Garl Glittergold knows what wearing reallllllly nice clothing. I think he was just there to gloat as he kept showing off his AMAZING watch left and rightin the middle of town. Every time the sun light hit it the watch would sparkle with the most AMAZING colors! It sparkled blue, green, red, purple, and every color in the world! I bet that thing was worth a fortune, but unfortunately he was to tall for me to reach it for closer inspection. Such a shame, I bet I could tell him how nice it was and take care of it. I'm digressing again!

So we decide to take Nester our wing and help him back to King Respite, where guess what? He's best friends with Durin! He must think he has nice feet too! I wouldn't know, us Gnomes are not into that kind of thing, but what did I say earlier? He's human. Fortunately he was able to get us into Glennaire house for the night as a good favor of Durin himself.

This is when things get weird though. So it turns out that the reason Durin called Skudd and myself into twon is because he's suspicious there are traders smuggling in other planer creatures, objects, and maybe even artifacts into town. This is BAD news! Those things are scary and CRAZY destructive. Our mission:

1.) Investigate the port for any suspicious activity. 2.) TELL NO ONE! Everyone is suspect, even the lower guards Durin himself hired! 3.) Find out who is involved. 4.) Find out what is exactly happening. 5.) Find out where all this smuggling is taking place.

This sounds kinda scary, but I'm confident I will be able to handle everything and look out for Skudd and Nester. Oh yea! Nester is joining us! I hope he has some cool magick tricks that will help. Off to buy some extra supplies and a new journal.

A long, long time ago...

In a galaxy far away...

..

...

..

Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm currently on my way back to "THE Empire." Creepy, right?

Yea... Skudd (the Dwarf) and I are on our way back home to King Respite. It's been a long time, and, don't get me wrong, but I'm happy to be going back home. I mean, yea, there's a bunch of wierdos and all... BUT it beats those people up north of here. They're al "UUUhhhhh... brains...." and all. Back to coming home and all. Durin sent us a letter (you know, the wierdo from Glennaire House that associates with us) and it sounded like there was something important that he needed MY expertise on. Seriously! To think, he must have some crazy crisis with some crazy doo dad thing or something! I hope it's pretty.. Oh, something with emeralds, rubies, gold... I digress. So yea, Skudd and I are traveling west to meet Durin. It's been pretty crazy though. We ran into a spider, and not just ANY spider, BUT a HUGE spider!!!! This thing was enormous! I think he's even bigger than Uncle Skidtrapp's wort! OMG this thing was huge! It looked like an extra toe, and every time you poked the thing it would spew this weird brown/yellow thing! You'd think that'd make it pretty, but NO! It was absolutely WEIRD! We all named it Alfred, and whenever he'd show up to a party we'd ask, "How's Alfred?" and Uncle Skidtrapp would talk about the crazy colors it would spew! That was until he met a wizard that did some weird voodoo on poor old Alfred and killed him. I'm sure he would've been a cool guy if he ever got to grow up. Oh well, again, I digress... So there was this HUGE spider! HE WAS HUGE!!!! Skudd, in his desire to look like a hero of course, approached the monster first. I would've, but it was a spider, and, ya know, IT WAS A SPIDER! Unfortunately Skudd's attempt of displaying his Dwarf-ness went against him and I eventually had to save the day and try to slay him with my Gnome-hooked hammer. As usual though, Skudd had to take the glory and smash his face with his warhammer. He was pretty groggy though from the venom the MONSTROUS spider injected in him so I like to think I wore the spider down for him. He did let me sleep though as dawn was coming and I was craaaaazy tired after all that walking! It turns out though that even after a peaceful night of sleep we were still not alone! I hope Skudd has some tricks up his sleeve so I don't have to save him again! Until next time! I hope to be in King Respite in the next day.
